I do not know the technical specs of my light but it has 3 channels. I have the white very low at 5% midday and 0% at dawn and dusk. I am still having a problem with the brownish algae on my glass. I clean it off with a in tank scrubber but that's a pain. Is that just part of it or should I reduce my light or even turn it off most of the day? Or are there other options?
36 BF with 22 lbs LR. No coral, yet. Tank is 8 weeks old

no corals, then no need for the light, keeping it off should help, unless you prefer the tank with it on, if leaving it on, I would put it on it’s lowest intensity.
Hard to say what’s causing it, could just be because it’s a new tank, could be your water, over feeding, lack of flow, all could play a part.

Non mature tank, everyone goes through the ugly stages, some more than others.
Reduce light intensity and/or the photoperiod, keep nutrients low with water changes.
Scrub off and siphon out on a regular basis.

In about 4-6 months, all these problems will go away.....
