Hey All,
i have a 6' T5 and Halide combo lighting and 2 6 ft LED strips from Hamilton Technologies. I acquired these brand new as part of the deal when i bought the aquarium (This sucker is heavy as hell).
It fits on the tank perfectly, but doesn't give me any room to work. My concern is building a canopy and the weight of these lights, will it be too heavy? My tank is 72"x24x30
I was going to build an automatic canopy , but i don't think i will have enough clearance to work in the tank. Any suggestions.

You can hang the light fixture from the ceiling and have a canopy with a open top. Canopy hides the light spill and would set on top the tank.

Just make the canopy tall to accommodate the fixture hanging height. Problem solved.

Was trying to stay away from the hanging option..wanted a nice clean look....Thanks
