I just got home from work to find the white lights off my LED were not working, plugged them into another outlet to make sure that it wasn't the outlet that had died but no such luck. I have been looking at getting a new light anyway but my question is will my coals be okay with just the actintic lights until I can get a new one or do I need to have a friend told them? I mainly have SPS and chalices. Thanks in advance!

They can be without light for a few days. No problem. If the sps go without light for longer, they might start to brown out.

I believe you have about 7 days to get a new light, at that point they will be quite ticked off. What kind of light went out on you? Should be able to pick up a ballast right quick and not be without lights at all.

I was told that the corals use the blue LED lighting and the white was merely for our visual appeal. Not sure how ture this is. How do the corals look under the blue lights? I guess SPS would be harder to tell, unlike LPS.

The old unit is a BoostLED mu100. The light is almost 4 years old and I've been looking at getting a new light anyway but I wanted to know what sort of time frame I was looking at. I think I'm going to go with something from Reef Radiance and have already been in contact with Rick about a few things.
