So, I want to upgrade my light system after some recent internal debate. I have a 75g round corner glass tank. About 80lbs of live rock, and youre basic asst of beginner/intermediate corals. Mushrooms, button polyps, a few nems, some gsp. I want to keep some more adv corals like zoas and chalices and the like. What type of lighting setup should I look into, even a DIY where I gut the ballast I have now(since it matches the tank) and put new lights in that. I also dont want to skyrocket my electric bill current setup are t8s 4 bulb setup(2-24in, 2-36 inch)

depending the depth of your tank.... you can get away with T-5s. I found that workhorse ballasts work well. Just change the end caps, ballasts, and bulbs and your in business. I grow some SPS and zoes under my t-5s very well... at 18" depth

Whats the energy diff between t5s and LED? I have heard good and bad about LED, the bad mainly being they havent been around long enough to really know the long term effects.

also if I were to go with a prefab LED setup, or a t5 setup what would people recommend? its a 75 gal standard dimensions just has rounded front corners
