Hey guys and gals,

I stumbled my way into a pretty killer deal on a 10'x34"x34" 600g acrylic tank and looking to bounce some ideas off the great ones here.

Im thinking of going with 5 Radion XR30w Gen 4 Pros and 6 Kessil 360NE fixtures for lighting. I was also thinking of adding x8 60" 80watt HO T-5 retrofit fixture with x4 geismann Azule bulbs and x4 Geismann Super Actinic bulbs along the sides for added PAR and even coverage. I really like the coloration and growth you get with T-5's. Am wondering though if thats just too much light. Anyone running anything similar to this?

Vince.

I am running a light rail system , one 400 watt m/h on a 8 foot long by 4 foot wide only 16 inches of deep . You could do something similar with two 400 watt m/h on a light rail .

M/H were my first choice but living in hawaii it's dang near impossible to keep the tank under 80 degrees with LEDs I think I would cook it with M/H. I'm running a 1/4hp chiller on my 80g and it sometimes struggles during the summer.

I already have 3 Radions and the 6 Kessils which makes it a little easier to make this setup happen. The Radions all have the Wide angle lenses on them to achieve a wider footprint and was using the kessil 360NE to maximize PAR at depth.

Admins could this post be moved over to the lighting forum. Probably best suited there.

Thank you

Can it be cross posted? It seems like it makes sense in both. This is, after all, a question related to a large tank

I agree that’s why I initially posted it in here but haven’t really gotten any feed back from anyone so figured the light section was the next best spot.
