Lighting for 20 Gallon Cube

Hey there, currently running an AI Prime over the cube, but looking to upgrade for higher PAR to support sps and less shadowing.

Leaning towards Ecotech Gen 5XR15 Blue. What are your thoughts on this light say versus AI Hydra 32 or a Kessil?

I would choose them in this order:

1. Gen 5 radion Blue
2. AI Hydra
3. Kessil

I've used all three and the radions are the best choice of the three LED units. The Gen 5 also has the leds spread out compared to the Hydra's and Kessil's where they are still clustered/concentrated in to pucks.

150 watt should be good.

Couldn’t you just add another prime?

it would be difficult, due to the various equipment i have taking up space in the rear AOI sump. I'm also starting to find the Primes shimmer rather disco ballesque and unpleasing to my eye.

I totally get it and I am sure they work great, especially in a T5 combo like you have shown. I'm all for an underdog company making great products, I'm just not quite ready to buy in myself.

i just got a kessil a360x over my frag tank it has some pretty killer shimmer almost a little to much lol

Hey John, I went with the XR15 G5 Blue, and I love it. I use the diffuser to take some of the disco out of the shimmer.

I’m using diffusers on all of my XR15’s Blues also. I absolutely love the Radions. The Kessil A360x really stands out to me for some reason. Thanks for your response! Happy Thanksgiving
