I am upgrading from a 60 gallon cube to a 150 gallon cube. Dimensions of 36x36x27. My current tank has a 6 lamp ATI T5 fixture and grows coral great. The 150 tank has a canopy with 4 T5 lights built into it. 2 on the front and 2 in the back. I want to also add LED lights. Was thinking either 2 OceanRevive T247 fixtures or 2 a360we Kessil lights.

I would like to get thoughts or opinions on this.

Thank you.

I purchased two ocean revive t247's for my frag tank (48x24x12 - 12" tall) and I also run a 6-bulb ATI on my main display. Check out @sawdonkey and @FarmerTy as they both do (or did for a very long time) run t247's over their displays and their coral is gorgeous. You may want to change out some of the cool white diodes for warmer white.

Warning: Shameless plug coming...

If you decide to do the warmer LED's there is an article that covers the how-to on it.

As far as two, you'll likely not have the best coverage. If you only have two islands, then this may work.

Thank you for the link. How about 2 of the ocean revives with 1 kessil a360we in the middle?

I'd personally go all the same. Especially when you can probably buy three t247s cheaper than two plus the kessil. Companies typically offer a discount for 2x, 3x, and 4x. I believe I got mine at around 170/piece.

Both led combos will work great. I belive the OR has more punch.
The kessil sure would be easier to mount and cool.

Good call for sure.
Two and def 3 OR would do the tank without the t5.

I simply wanted the kessil for the awesome shimmer effect.

Will the difference in color bother you?

You'll likely have different color temperatures at each end)
Edit: meaning the two t247s will be the same with a different color in the middle.

I guess I didn't think about that. So the sake of just 1 vs 1, will one ocean revive produce better results than the 1 kessil. Seems people buy kessil lights and then get rid of them right away.

I have never used Kessil and I haven't used the t247s yet to grow anything.

I personally chose the OR because I saw they were being used by a couple reefers very successfully (see first most and search their build threads... absolutely amazing)

I don't prefer pendant style lights due to shadowing.. I would expect to use double the number of Kessils to the OR for an SPS dominated tank.
