Lighting for a 20 gallon reef tank
Hey guys, I am new to reefing. I have a 20 gallon tank. I am currently using a current Marine orbit for the tank. I have a few corals (frags). So far they are still alive. I was wondering is this a good light? If not, what would you recommend using that is not too expensive ?

If it is the orbit marine pro light, it's okay, but the regular orbit is like fish only, unless you want to grow softies like mushrooms.

Is the tank 30" x 12" x 12" ?

+1.

@newyorkr212 - You may want to take a look at the Noopsyche K7 Pro II. It is a solid light that isn't as expensive as some of the well-known brands. Additionally, there is a giveaway contest on this light so at the least you may want to enter. Good luck with whatever you decide.

That's a great light and comes in under $160, thanks for sharing.

Looks like an ET G4.

Also, an AI Prime HD would be a good choice. Unless perhaps yours is a 20 long? That might be a little too much area to spread over.

What style 20 do you have? (Dimensions?)

It is 24"x12 1/2"x17"

That’s a 20 gal high, so any of the lights above should do, except that I don’t have any experience with Orbit brand lighting.

I have the Noopsyche K7. It would be an awesome light!

If you wanted to get something different, you might also look at using a couple of the 24 inch Orphek LED bars (no fans to break).
