Planning on upgrading once I move shortly to a 180 6 foot tank and just curious on lighting I want to run a t5 setup well because I love them! I have two 48” 6 bulb fixtures now. But what would I need to run for a 72” inch tank? Two 36” fixtures or would 60” fixture work.

60 would work but I would just get a 24 and use it with one of the 48s you already have.

I use a 61” aquatic life t5 hybrid with kessils on my 6’ 180. I think it’s great.
Thought about a hybrid wasn’t sure I have two ai primes and a kessil a360x laying around too I could consider.

I’ve thought about that and I’m kind of weird about the looks of the tank I would want them to be even but I could try that.

I'd just add a 72 inch lumi lite pro to both sides that might make it look better, plus you get hybrid easy cheap.

Not a bad idea with a 60” fixture that only leads 6” on each side of fixture could easily fill that in with a led strip. Thanks

60 inch is fine... you will just have slightly darker ends. You can make your rock so that it tapers on the ends and this is not an issue anyway.

If you want to be end-to-end fully stocked, then get a 24 and 48 or a pair of 36. I have a 6' light over a 7' tank and I hated the dark ends and added light to each end, but I also want end-to-end coverage.

Only you can decide what you want to get.

Sounds like a plan! I’m going to order a 60” 8 bulb sunpower I like my full t5 tanks too much to try a hybrid lol

I staggered the 48” T5’s

I plan on going with a 61in AquaticLife fixture with 5 Radion XR15 G5 Blues.
