Lighting for a Frag Tank

I'm setting up a 30 breeder to use as a frag tank. It will be tied into my display tank. I'm using an Aquatic Life hybrid fixture, with a Kessil 360WE and 4 39 watt T-5's. Frag tank is 36 inches long and 12 inches deep. Would another Kessil on the frag tank be overkill? It will primarily house SPS, which are currently under 250 watt halides w/VHO supplementation.

Probably not. All the successful frag tanks from the large propagators I've seen have a ton of lights and mount them high for max spread.

Put the Halide over the frag tank. You don't have to run the VHOs, so save the electricity.

Ordered it from my local LFS. A local fish breeder has 100+ 30 breeders for sale, but medication has been in them and I didn't want to take that risk. I have a 40 breeder, but wanted the lower height.

I used to live in Nashville. Where are you talking about? What’s your lfs?
