Lighting for anemone?

BTA, like most corals we keep, use zooxanthellae and therefore need good light for photosynthesis. IMHO BTAs are fairly adaptable to light. They can survive OK in medium low, probably prefer medium to medium high and can tolerate high lighting.

Other anemones need medium low to survive and can tolerate more. Some need medium high and can tolerate even higher.

yep, Anemones obtain most of their nutrients through their relationship with zooxanthellae algae must have the proper lighting for a reef tank or they won't survive. I use a cheap LED 150w and they thrive.

Is there an amount of time the light should be on that is recommended for RTA's?

BTA require light in the range of mid to high light for LPS. Low light range for SPS. Water movement wise, they require current in the range of Torches and Frogspawns.
Water condition wise, they do require clean good condition water like most mid-range corals. No need for high Calcium and alkalinity, other than reasonable level.

My bta sit under 400+ par and thrive. Peak lighting is on for 8 hrs I think (haven't looked at the schedule in a while) Flow is moderate so they sway. I had them under stronger flow but they bubble better now that I have lowered it. Flow may or may not be the reason but I think it is, at least for me. These have been in my tank for several years.
Just as a side not I have not target fed any of my nems in over 2 years. I mention that because many people say they need direct feedings and I find that not to be the case for me.
