I'm looking at this for my new tank, being delivered next week. •70-gallon Artisan II aquarium (35.5” x 23.5” x 18”). Tell what you think about this light: Is anybody using those? Will it grow coral? Or only grows algae? Is there something just as good but less expensive? Quality?

The Radion is probably one of the most popular LED lights for the reef aquarium. Being that you are familiar with Bulkreefsupply I would look at some of the YouTube videos on their site regarding lighting. They go over several different types including LED, T5, and metal halide, giving the pros and cons of each lighting type. Just for reference here is my friends reef lit primarily by 3 Radion lights.

Check out SB reef lights. I know a few people who have switched from radions to those, I love mine:)

The Green Element Quad has 64 3 watt LEDs for a quarter of that price that will grow most anything.

To get good corner to corner coverage with the Radions, you'll do best with 2. I have a 70G Artisan II with an Aquaticlife XS series LED and Aquatilife quad T5 and my system loves the hybrid mix. With the WA lenses of the Radion, you'll get @30x30" coverage. The 70G is 35.5" wide so you would have some shadowing with just one. It is a great light! JMO/E

Ty for that information. I'm going to go with AI Hydra 52 I think...
