Hi
I have a 55 falling tank where I have some basic lights under a wooden good. It's ok for the fish but I would like to have some corals like zooanthids, some soft coral and maybe an anemone.
My wife wants to keep the hood. Are there any lights that would be adequate for use under a hood, maybe two inches above the surface?
Thanks, Tom

LED strip lights will work great, I have run them for a long time. Look at e.g. the Reef Brite LumiLight or LumiLight Pro, or the Current USA TruLumen Pro. Three or four over a 55 should be plenty even for SPS. Bulk Reef Supply recently did videos about the Reef Brite products so those should give you an idea of how many you'd need and in what color combination.

My wife wanted the hood too. I use kessil a360we‘s and T5’s in my aquatic life hybrid under a hood. The strip lights would be a great option as well. Fresh pic below.
