I have a 65 gallon aquarium. 90 pounds live rock been set up 10 months. Wanted to try to pick up a couple of corals today. Was thinking easy to keep zoa and a pompom xenia. I currently have solarmax ho double T5 lighting system. It's one long light and it has a purple light in it and a white light in it. Input power is 120 volt output is 108 Watts. What I'm wondering is is this not enough for these two corals that I want to get. I can't afford a lot right now so if this light will not work for these two corals I don't want to get them yet. Any help appreciated

On a different note if you just go with softies you should be fine, not the best color of your corals maybe but it won't hurt them if the light is to strong.

Another newbie question....the coral i got is on a piece of rock...how do i get it off thw rock? Or dp i just sit the whole thing on top of the rock i want the coral to grow on or do they unattach from the rock? I can't believe I waited until I got home and was putting them in the tank for this to hit me as a question LOL

Just position where the rock looks good or blends in with your rock scape and let it to be.

They will not detach on their own. If the piece of coral is just glued on, then you can (carefully) break it off. I do this frequently because the frag plugs do not fit where I want the coral to be. However, sometimes if the coral is mature enough, it will have encrusted itself onto the rock (or the frag plug). If that is the case, then you cannot safely remove the coral. This is assuming we are talking about stony corals here. Soft corals are different and I will not go into that.
Also, use gloves when handling corals, just in case...
Oh yes. Reef octopus 110 space saver...its new..2mnths old ismt working very well...finally starting to see small bit of foam but if i adjust it even a hair ots done it wont foam anymoe till i unplug it for few days...weird
Generally zoas like lots of light and flow. They actually perk up if there is decent flow. Too much light or too little they will close. Xenia was one of my first corals it died. I think my water was too clean. 6 months later i found it regrowing out of a rock crevice near the top of my tank. It doesnt mind the high light either.
I actually have my fish in QT and theyll be there 76 more days due to an ich outbreak. And i took the opportunity to start trying corals. My question now is with the fish being in qt for so long should i feed the corals and if so what do yall suggest and how often?

Xenias flourish in high light semi dirty tanks my tank began to crash awhile ago and during the crash my xenias grew like weeds and no that my tank stabilized the slowed there growth down
