It Depends

LEDs Vary as do Optics and Drivers.

Forget about wattage... Our 150 watt LED Fixture provides close to twice the PAR of a competitors 175 watt LED Fixture.

I'm old school MH and think of LEDs as a MH Equivelant.

If your considering DIY you have the most flexibility and cost savings if you build right.

Cree LEDs are binned for both spectrum and intensity.

Choosing the R4 or R5 intensity bin of an X Series Cree LED can give you up to 20% more light than a factory fixture that accepts R2 & R3 Bins.

A tank your size would work well with two 12" fixtures using 45-60 degree optics 16" off the water.

What Intensity or PAR are you looking for on the sand Bed?

For a Softie Tank 100 PAR is ok. For Clams and Anemones I like to see 200-250 PAR on the sand bed.

Go with LEDs. I've had T7 and MH and I prefer LEDs. They are brighter, thinner and more efficient.

I tried calling you today to talk about lights

Got a couple calls. Returned most

Bloody investment scammers. Can't say I was polite on the unsolicited call...

Give me a call tomorrow late afternoon

Leave a message with a call back if I dont pick up. This is our magic jack number and should go straight to my cell phone.

This week I'm doing the airport shuffle out of the office.
