Lighting help please

Tank is 60"x30"x24" going to be a mix reef sps dominate. Has an 8" canopy was going to run 6 54w t5 retros and then supplement with led ? Was thinking reef brights but they are kinda pricey. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Are you going for just the ramping and timer or some shimmer.

At 8in the t5 will be much more than enough par. Plus heat will be a concern.

So imo you can use a less expensive led for it. I had a 4tube with a current orbit and worked pretty darned well with my t5. Pretty inexpensive used. And you may actually need to turn them down a bit with the t5s. For both heat and par. The orbit pro. Is basicly three or or t5 at that distance

The older model with no lenses is like two t5 and cheaper but with less shimmer.

Sbreeflight also makes an sbar. I'm not sure how it's controlled

Gonna run fans but just wanted the leds for more pop... was looking for something not in a hood ? Kinda blew it should have had the canopy made 10" or more to late now

Where would you mount them?

Fwiw, the orbit is less than a half in thick and three in wide

You won't need t5 then. The 360 would be better in the canopy probaly.

Yes, you just need the Kessil control cable connected to one of the VDM ports of the APEX controller.

The reef brights give off some nice color. I would go for them.
