My tank has been running for 5 to 6 weeks now, I have two clown fish in there, I was wondering when I should throw the lights on? Was told not turn on lights for awhile as it kick starts algae. Thank You!

Turn them on. Its the most useless advice I've ever heard as it just delays the algae stage until you turn them on anyways.

If your fixture is programmable you don’t have to go full intensity straight away. You can start at low intensity and build up slowly, matching CUC addition and manual control on a needs basis.
