Lighting help

Personally I would (I do) run a hydrid for SPS dominant. I would run 4 26's with 4 80w T5's or 8 36" T5's. I run 2 Hydra 26's and 4 36" T5's over a 42 X 22.5 X 12H shallow reef.

What about 3 hydra26 and some AI primes to fill in . I am thinking about creating 3 separate island in my rock work and maybe a few rocks in between the islands for maybe some lps

I run 3 hydra 26’s and 2 60” t5 coral plus bulbs on my 72” 220 gallon which is sps and a few pls.

Thanks. That setup work’s very well for me. I used to run it with just the 3 Ai lights but when things started getting bigger there was some shading. The T5’s made a huge difference.

What settings are you running on them . I have 3 26s now on my cube I am just tired of my cube tank and I am switching to this tank . I have only had my lights for about 3 weeks

Which type of SPS are you after? For MBP&S, less will work. For acropora, then use as many as you can. I would use T5s on either, but I would also use enough T5s so that the EcoTech were supplementing them.

How many hydra 26hd would you run on a 72x19wX20t heavy SPS .
For heavy SPS.

I'm with @saltyfilmfolks

Bite the bullet and go with six 26hd's, to capture the correct led spread.

Heck, I'd hang two Kessil Ap700's for perfection :)

Thanks, and the are not even the HD’s. I think a lot of people underestimate LEDs, but the T5’s do help a lot. I noticed a big difference after adding them although the 3 LEDs did grow sps.

I have 3 hydra 26hd now and 4 36” t5 . I am just switching to a different tank . I have a 140 cube now just really not happy with it and want a change.
