Hello all! I am in need of some general advice.

So I will be getting the Waterbox 70.2. It’s 24x24x22, and I am looking for a light.

Currently I have a Current USA orbit marine, 24”. It’ll work but it’s the base model, so not very strong for that size tank. I like how it basically has the Ronco “set it and forget it” capability. I want something like that. I prefer how it ramps up then down during the day.

I want something that will look good, grow simple corals( I’m scared of rising, not gonna lie) and basically ramp up and down during the day. I am not a fan of the sudden on off structures.

Also, and most importantly, price. I can’t sink $300.00 in a fixture. Basically I have to be able to find a light, then find a client to paint for lol.

So gimme links and suggestions please!

Evening

Sounds like a nice tank. With it being fairly deep you may want a light with some par power. Even with starting with easier coral like you mentioned, can’t hurt to be prepared if you try harder corals.

I have heard black boxes are good for the price point as is noopsyche. Maybe @dantimdad is around to give some more insight

While they may not be pretty, dollar for dollar you can’t beat black boxes. A step up up in looks and features are the noopsyche lights.

I haven’t seen the need to spend more honestly but if I was going to I would go with reef brite
