Have my 120 gal DT 24 x 48 x 24 really need good advice on how much light will be enough, as well as light recommendations. I'd like to keep spending around $800-$1000 max. Its the finishing touch on this tank and i'm psyched to get it going.

Thank to all

BRS has done some excellent videos on your topic. 1st video is a comparison between the most popular. 2nd is the Radions that I went with.

I have 2 kessils on my 90 gallon. They have worked really well. With the controller and the shimmer effect it's been very nice. What type of tank do you intend on it being? Mixed? Fish only? Solid sps? That will dictate which lights would be best. LEDs are very pleasant to the eye, T5s will give you the best coverage. Hybrid of both is the best of both worlds but the price will reflect that.

Two kessil AP700, or 2 Ai hydra 26
Or 2-3 orphek OR3-120 super blue

I opted for one Kessil AP9X with the intention of getting some additional lights in the future. Man these lights sure do break the bank.

Thanks for all your help
