Howdy-

I purchased a 4-bulb 48" HO AquaticLife light fixture, and it came stocked with two 420/460 54w bulbs, one 'Purple' 54w AE bulb, and one 10k 54w bulb.

My questions are:
  1. Should I ditch the stock bulbs and replace them straightaway? I've heard that even nice fixtures come loaded with bargain bin bulbs.
  2. The 'purple' lamp came as a "bonus" instead of the second 10k bulb the fixture normally comes with. Should I keep it or ditch it?
My tank is 55g with dimensions of 48Lx13Wx20H. The tank has been up for a month, and currently contains:
  1. Torch Coral
  2. Plate Coral
  3. Red Acan
  4. 3" maxima clam
I've included a photo of the aquarium and marked where each of the inhabitants are. If you feel like any of them should be moved based (or have any other comments), please let me know! Thank you!

You will be fine with the stock bulbs. I would replace around the six month mark.
