Lighting ideas for older Biocube 29

I'm new to this forum! I have not had a salt water tank in my home in a number of years. Last week I went to Destin, FL with the family and we brought back some live sand and thought why not

I bought a used tank on craigs list for $150 it came with the stand and various accessories but then realized the ballast were not included when I got home :neutral:

soooooo...

Not sure how to proceed... I'm sure there are a number of options... I don't thiink we want any lights hanging from the ceiling or anything like that... we would like to keep the top (or a top) on it.

Not sure if you can purchase the new HQ tops seperately and if so would it fit the same.

In addition, I have seen the ballast available on different websites for $40-$50 each.

Please help... I have already started to cycle the tank but would like to place some live rock in there to speed up the process but I NEED LIGHTING!!!!!

It should, its an adjustable clip on the tank style.

I wanted to keep the original top on it though... any other ideas?

They are a bit pricy but you can buy replacement ballasts from In-Tanked BioCube 29 Ballast Also you can upgrade to LED kits. Both steves LED and Rapid LED sell retrofit kits that will work perfectly in side your hood.
