I'm moving from my 10 gallon AIO to a 48" x 18" x 14" (L x W x H) 50 gallon rimless peninsula. Lighting on my 10 gallon is a G5 Radion XR15 with Reefbrite XHO add on kit. My tank will be done being built in a month and I'm trying to plan what I'm doing for lighting. It will be a mixed reef with just 2 SPS in the middle (green slimer, Bubblegum Digi) and softies on the sides on shallow rocks. Things of importance to me are that the lighting be sleek and as small as possible so that rules out T5 Hybrids since they're as wide as my tank. I'm wanting uneven spread with high par in the middle for the SPS and lower PAR on the sides for the softies. I was thinking of doing the XR15 in the middle and maybe an AI prime on each side of it... or the XR15 in the middle with 2 LED bars on each side of it (Reefbrite vs Orphek LED strip). I just don't know how I would fix all of these together for a minimalistic look. Anyone have any other ideas? Looking for opinions. I'm also wondering if 1 XR15 in the middle will suffice but I'm assuming not.

I would think 2 XR15's would do the trick, you get high light directly under the pucks and the edges par will taper off. I believe 1 light will do a 24x24 in the application your trying to achieve.

Yeah I thought about that too but my only concern would be getting too much PAR at the edges where the softies will be with those since the spread of the G5 is so good. When you pair 2 G5s together can you control the intensity separately? Like have same program and schedule but with different intensities?

You would be able to manage the par no problem by adjusting the intensity or save some money and get the G4 instead as they don't spread as well...

Hmm I might just have to get another XR15 then the more I think about it. I'd just do the G5 so they match

Actually debating on just going the 3 AI Primes route as well and just selling the XR15. That way I could control the PAR in the middle and sides separately easier. Good idea? Anyone know if I can control the intensity of each AI Prime separately while keeping them on the same program and spectrum?
