I will be running ocean revive led down center and 4 t5 retrofit kit to give me 2 t5 in front and 2 t5 in back entire length. Trying to decided between 6 or 8 ocean revive.. 8 would offer more even spread but is it overkill? Would be nice to save extra 350 if 6 is plentyplenty..but will get 8 if its better.

I use 3 ocean revive blackboxes and I have a 6' tank. I believe they 1 is good for every 2 feet. What kind of ocean revive are you using?

I have the ocean revive 247. I ran 2 on a 90 and 3 on a 125.. With this tank I want most even spread. I know 6 would work but would 8 be better is the question. I see a lot of people running more led at higher height to achieve more full and blended blanket of light on tank

This depends on your goals and what you are going to keep. For a normal mixed reef, then 4 might be OK. 8 might be needed for a densely populated acropora tank with clams... and then any variation in between.

Yes guess I should have stated its a HEAVILY sps dominated tank.
