i am about to upgrade my lighting for my 90 tech tank. my question is should i go with 400's or 250's ? i am getting more and more into sps. will 400's be over kill? i figure i can mount them higher in the canopy. also i am trying to keep in mind that i will want to upgrade the tank eventually. also, how high off the water should i have 250/400's of the water surface. i will be using lumenmax elite reflectors with 20k radium. any ideas welcome. thanks all

would you say that was plenty for good sps growth? any pictures maybe? trying to get as much input as i can. thanks

I think (2) 250w are plenty for a 90 and that you'll be able to keep anything you want. I have (2) 250w over my 75 and they are only about 10 inches off the water.

On my 105, which is pretty the same as the 90 gallon but taller, I run two 400watt 20k's using lumenmax reflectors. I get awesome color and growth. But of course I run a chiller because it would be to hot for the tank.

if your lookin for growth. then drop down to like 14ks and run some atnics for color. the pars are a lot better then the 20k but the 20k give your corals that great color.
