I picked up an Elos Mini but I am having trouble deciding what type of lighting to use. it is a 17x17x16 footprint, so t5's are out of the question. I want something that is full spectrum and controllable if possible. AI Vega, Sol, Nano? Maxspect? Ecoxotic? Any suggestions. I want to be able to have some sps in this tank... thanks

I'd probably go with a radion or wait for the ai vega.
I myself run an ai sol blue on my mini.

yeah I actually have 2 radions.. I was going to use them over my Reef Savvy custom built tank... but I was probably going to use one on another reef savvy I am getting at Macna and sell the other... but this may be an option... Just hate to "waste" the radion on such a small tank when I know it's full potential. Do you know if the Vega will be programmable without the controller? That is my next ? if I go that route... and thanks for your help... your one of the few I seen out there with the Mini.... I would have thought more people had them... I scanned all the forums looking for lighting examples on the Mini.

Yes the mini is a nice tank, but a bit too small in my opinion for corals. I keep most of my collector corals in my midi tank under T5's since they seem to do the best with those lights. In my mini I keep just my anenome's and some softies. I think if you sold your radion for the going market rate it looks like right now, you'll end up spending the same amount for the vega with a controller. Considering that, i'd keep the radion. There is a local guy on my forum who uses the ai nano and he has mostly lps/polyps/anenomes and he's happy with it. Depending on what kind of corals you want to keep in the mini, you might be able to get by with the ai nano.

yeah I guess I need to make that decision... considering I have 7 tanks already.. I may be able to get away with a Nano and just do some nems as well. thanks
