Lighting over a 30” deep tank...AP700?

Hello. I’m looking to upgrade my lighting. My tank is 330 gallons. 72 long, 36 wide and 30” high. I’m really leaning towards some kessil ap700, maybe 3 of them plus a couple t5s. Would that be sufficient to get decent par at bottom of tank? I’d be looking for minimum 100ish par. I was also thinking of mixing it up, maybe 2 ap700’s and a couple hydra 26’s in between the kessils? Overkill? Any input is greatly appreciated...here’s a couple shots of my current lighting..a couple SB reef lights and a T5...

3 Ap's would be perfect for that tank.

The hydras would be spotty. Spot lightly that is, compared to what you have.

The t5s would do little to nothing imo. Save perhaps help with shading.

Nice, thanks for the info. That’s what I was thinking at first but I read reviews that people weren’t seeing growth of corals under kessils in taller tanks...it’s a lot of $$$ to drop so I want to get it right.

I love my SB reef lights but they don’t have the WiFi or customizing features of all these newer lights and I’m kind of getting tired of that heavy “blue” look all the time. I like the warmth my T5s add but as you can see my light set up is a bit ghetto... lol, but I’m proud of the custom light fixture. I was thinking I could add a couple 60” T5s along back and front of the LEDs to bring some of that warmth combined with the shimmer kessils are known for.

Check out the Mitras LX7206 while you are at it. On their website under Light Composer projects there is a tank of similar size to yours running the Mitras fixtures with great success! He is also a member of this forum and I think his log is on this site.

Brs did a review on the ap700 and from what I took from it it’s a great lps light in shallower tanks I don’t think it’s up to the task of what you need/want from it. Hydras can but you will need a lot of them. I second the Mitras.

Nope. Only a few pictures. Mr Mike over there says it's the same spectrum though.
