Lighting Question for 24 Gallon Nano Cube

I recently got a 24G nano cube for my daughter's room and my issue with it is that the light is so strong, the sand becomes brown after literally 2-3 days. How come these lights aren't adjustable?

You could change the lighting if you want something that's adjustable. However, it sounds like the tank is just going through the maturing process. Diatoms are normal in a new tank and would make the sand look brown.
