I've had a four foot 110 running over a year and I'm upgrading to a six foot 180 and I was wondering if my current for foot (Giesemann Infiniti 2-250 watt MH and 4-54 watt T5) would be adequate over a six foot tank. Obviously I couldn't keep SPS on the outer edges just curious how well it would work. This certain fixture has movable reflectors.

Thanks for any input.

This comment is just opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. A MH covers an area approx. 2' x 2'. And the T5's are weaker on the ends. Those two things together - I wouldn't do it. How about adding another MH on one end or another light fixture?

That's what I was thinking as well, my original plan was to add some DIY LEDs around it in all directions inside of a floating canopy.
