Hi everyone i have another lighting question lol. I currently have a hydra 26 on my 35 gallon deep blue and I just started cycling my new 20 gallon step down innovative Marine and I'm debating what type of light to get for it. I have two options In mind and I was hoping to get some opinions on them.
One is just getting a kessil for the step Down. I've read some good reviews on them. Another option I'm thinking is getting a Hydra 52 or a Radion gen. 4 for the 35 gallon and moving the Hydra 26 over to the 20 gallon step down. Which option do you guys think is better ?? I'm thinking of just doing LPS on the new step down.

I don't know what kind of tank the OP is talking about....a pic might help?

What criterial are you using to make the list of light you're looking at? Why aren't you considering other options?

He states what he wants to do @mcarroll . Hes talking about buying a new light. But is asking what he should buy and if he should move his old one to his new tank or keep it there. Either or, he is buying a new light.

If you are happy with the 26 then stick with what works and get the Hydra 52;)

I gathered that much. Nobody is obligated to answer any questions they don't feel like.....but I saw a bunch of unasked questions in there. :)

If AI is so right, why are other options being considered? We don't know.
Why aren't other different options being considered? We don't know.
If someone who's making recommendations knows what kind of tank a "20 gallon step down" is, does that matter in your recommendation? If it does, it's not in the thread so far.

We can't answer any of these questions, really....only the OP. At least in my opinion, these are potentially important questions.

Move the Hydra 26 to the drop off and get the 52 for the big tank. That way you can control both lights off 1 app. Unless of course you don't care about having multiple controllers.

Have you heard of Reef Breeders LEDs? Our Photon 16-V2 uses Cree LEDs and has 6 control channels for $339 shipped, and it can mount right on the rim of your tank. If you want smartphone programming, take a look at the aquasanrise R60, you can program all 6 channels of Cree LEDs using an intuitive smartphone app: https://www.reefbreeders.com/aquasanrise-plus/ those are only $449 shipped.

If you have any questions just let me know.

Hey biga1106, have you checked the oceanrevive T247-B yet? I believe it will work great for your LPS. It controls TWO channels independently (blue and full spectrum channels) for both Time and Intensity. Based on your tank size, One unit will be good enough. Please check it out through OR website:http://www.oceanrevivellc.com/goods.php?id=21.
