Hello have a question on lighting a shallow tank. I just got back into the hobby not to long ago and decided to do a nano tank.

I have the 24x24x12 tank, with a ATI 6 bulb fixture with 2 reef brite fixtures on it. I like the bluer look so bulbs will be more of the blue plus, with a super purple bulb. However I have no clue how high to hang this above the water line.

The tank will have mostly all sps in it with maybe a few LPS in there as well. This is my first shallow tank like this, I used T5 for my other builds but they were deeper tanks. Anybody have a shallow sps tank that can give me a starting point on height for the tank. Thanks

I run an 8 bulb with one orphek uv or 120 and one orphek Blue Sky or120 bar. It’s on an 80 shallow (48x24x16) I have my lights at 12” above water level and seems to be doing well for my sticks, LPS, and zoas.

Pics for reference.
