I am currently running this light in a 65g tank.

It’s a viperspectra 300w timed and dimmable light with a blue and a white channel.
Is this light sufficient for fish, coral, and invert like anemone’s? Or do I need to upgrade, and if so to support which of the animals mentioned. Also any suggestions for replacements that won’t break the bank. The light came with the set up, so I assumed it would be ok for the things I want to keep (mentioned above), but would rather have some experienced knowledge.

Also, I was given some bad advice and based on that advice purchased an anemone a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, since then I have learned they do not do well in new tanks. Is there any chance it will survive? I feel bad, but at this point I am stuck either letting it die or trying to keep it alive. I don’t know anyone that could take it, or even that wants to deal with a stressed anemone. Advice here is welcome as well.

In the future, like another 9 months, if this one does die, I would like to try again with an established tank, so lighting is a big question. Hopefully I don’t have to replace what I have, but will if I have to.
Thanks

That's a solid light and you can grow anything you want with it. Just make sure you don't turn it up too high! As far ad your nem goes just do your best to keep your parameters VERY stable. What kind of rock did you start your tank with?

I have been weary of the lights being too high, but not sure if they are high enough. I currently have the blue set to 40 and they run from 10am- 9:30pm and the whites at 20 running from 1pm-6:45pm. Not sure if that is a good schedule, I am down for advice on it. Anything to help my tank inhabitants live better.
I started with live rock I bought from a LCS. All my fish and coral are doing well And look happy, except the nem. He had attached to a rock at the back of the tank, but when I moved a different rock so I could see him to monitor him, he detached. I wafted him earlier to a spot similar to where he was flow and shadow wise, but to where I can see him more, but he is still deflated and sucked in since moving. However, the lights are out, and he tends to do that nightly.

Ok so the live rock is a great start. Your lights aren't super high but it wouldn't hurt to lower them a bit while the nem is acclimating. Definately don't touch the nem or worry about where it is right now, most likely it'll do quite a bit of walking around while it gets comfortable. If it's still detached I like to put them in a bowl with some frag plugs or live rock rubble until they attach (that way it can't blow around and get stuck in a pump or something). Other than that I could ask for your parameters to see where everything is at but it sounds like you've got a decent handle on everything.

Honestly sometimes nems just don't make it in newer tanks, but imo that's usually when people start with dry rock. If its still not looking happy then my motto is when in doubt do a water change!

Today is about 2.5 weeks since I put him in. I have been doing 15g water changes weekly, most recent was tonight. Since I messed with him tonight, I will monitor for a couple days and if he still hasn’t attached I will try the bowl thing. What would you suggest for the lights?
sal: 1.026
Temp: 80
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 4
Ph: 8
Phos: .1 (can’t seem to get it down)
Calc: 400
Mag: 1305

I have the same light on a 40g breeder, so not quite as deep.

I cranked up the blue channel slowly to 70-80% and it is doing well supporting SPS as well as a clam on the bottom.

I don’t think you have to worry about the light.
