I'm looking to upgrade my black box to a new Ai light. but do corals really need UV, Red photo, green, and violet lights?? was thinking of going with the AI Sol new version. I have a 65G mixed reef tank

I would check out brs review of the kessils A360X ...I'm hoping too upgrade too these shortly . But brs will answer your questions about the UV addition and red and green
I have 3 x A360 we ovef my 90 g

I like the way mine look getting the spectrums you listed. UV especially. I run 360X’s with UV cranked up to 80%. Everything glows; like Pandora in Avatar, except it’s in my living room and not in space.

I agree that corals will do just fine under only white and blue LED's, but the colors that show will be more vibrant under UV, red, and green as well. I keep my reds and greens quite low, but the UV are up at the same level as the blues. I LOVE my Hydras and have had amazing results under them.
