I've been looking for a light that will fit this criteria

- used for anemone / clownfish tank
- mounted at most 7" above water
- only planning on using 1 light source for a 20 gal innovative marine aio
- cannot have a fan on the top of the light fixture

Anyone have any suggestions?

Why no fan at the top? Is this going in an enclosure or something? I would think at only 7” above the water, light spread might be an issue depending on the tank dimensions. Which IM20 is this? Peninsula or cube?

the tank is under my kitchen cabinets so there's only 7" of clearance. If I have the light sitting right at the upper limits, then my kitchen cabinet will basically be right on top of the light so it'll be blocking the fans.

Give t a look.. but no it is NOT 300 watts..
It's sort of disposable if you go by their lifespan rating but should stretch that at like 25% output.
Has 90 degree reflectors so 7" is a bit low for it but size is fairly ideal for your use.
No guarantees.

Any number of small emitter 120 degree strips lights should do.

X 2 for 40 Watts.

What's your budget? You could do two Kessil a80 tuna blues. They come with a mount for using under cabinets/canopies. You could probably find them used. No fans, just passive cooling through a heatsink.

yea i like the a80 option. prob try that.

Want to mount it to the cabinet bottom?

Would prob need a little skirt on the front.
A better explaination of needs/wants would help
Dmmable not dimmable
Color adj control)/on off
High par average par
On tank or mounted

Length 23.62” Width: 12.03” Height: 13
A single Kessil is probably the worst choice based on actual tank dimensions and power, unless you want an island look.
Fortunately you are fairly shallow but still need decent par at an effective distance of about 17"
I recently had the fortune of borrowing a par meter from my local reef society and testing it out in my tank. The tank's dimensions are 24 x 10 x 10" and the par varied from 30 to 40 at a corner to 40 to 70 in the middle from bottom to top.

ideally the light fixture isn't to thick, i like the AI Prime and Kessil A80 thickness. There's a little skirt on the cabinet above the tank so that would hide those light fixtures really well. All i need is enough par for an anemone so hopefully an a80 is enough for that when its mounted 7" above the water.

reefbrites would also likely work. I can install those behind the cabinet skirt and they make those in 24" lenghts. I just don't know which color to get, but I would guess 50/50 xho?
