Ok just bought a 120 gallon tank and need lighting. I found someone selling 2 maxspect razor 420 led 16k that are 27'' long for 450$. Firm

My requirements are the lights must be led, programable, and grow some coral.

Now the questions......

1) will 2 be enough for my tank that is 60x18x24?

2) if any one has reviews and thoughts on the lights I'd like to hear them.

3) is this a good price? If so should I buy them or put my 450 toward some other lights?

Thanks!!!

They will definitely work, as far as the tanks length. What is the wattage on each light? As far as pricing goes I don't have a clue

Go to sblights.com for way less then that you can get there big light and it would cover great. Everyone on our blog here in the panhandle uses them and they are unbelievable! Check out his sight

The 27 inch razors are either 160 W or 180 W depending on how new they are.

I think two of them would cover a 5' x 18" surface very well. Get the overlap right in the middle and don't leave your edges too dark. I have one on a 36" x 18" surface area (50 gallon).

He said they are 28'' and 120 w so idk. It's hard to find those on the internet so it's hard for me to decide on what he guy is selling.

I also looked this up and could not find what was listed for that size. I'm at a loss

The 27 inch model was introduced at 160 watts. Later on the 27" model was upgraded to 180 W.

Get a picture of the unit that includes the model number and serial number stamped on the right side of the fixture. Then you will know for sure.

My guess is the seller might not know exactly what they have or might be slightly mistaken about the details but there is no 24 inch 120 what model or any other variation. There's a smaller one pod model and there are larger four models but that is not what they're talking about either. I think they are just slightly mistaken about the numbers of the model they are selling.

That's a 10,000K model...not so great for reefing all by itself. I'd skip it on that basis.

I guess I misspoke...there is a two-pod model that would be about 20" and 130 watts.

Still not really good for reefing at 10000K. (not by itself)

As for the 20" form-factor, I'd prefer coverage of three pods in the 27". But I think you might be able to get satisfactory results from the 20" too.

Yeah I'm passing and back to the drawing board as far as lights. I like the t5 lights but I'm not replacing lights that often.

So back to figuring out what's good For less than 450$$$. I really wish the aqua Mars were programable they sound awesome. And as far as sbreeflights.com they are a little out if my budget for what I need as well.

Def appreciate all the help and time! Y'all have saved me a great deal of money and disappointment.

Ok so I figured I will save my money for a better lighting system for now but just to get the tank up and running what do y'all think about the Fluval Sea Marine & Reef 2.0 LED Aquarium Light 48-60"?

All I am doing really is the soft corals shrooms for now

It's 200 plus 50 for the wifi adapter that makes it look pretty easy to set up from the vids.

Next question what would you recommend down the like buying some better lights and selling this one or possible buying a second fluval reef led bc u can run both off the same wifi switch?

Thanks
