So, many times now I have asked successful reef keepers about their lighting schedule's. More often then not the response is, "I don't share because what works for me may not work for you."

Part of me says, yeah I totally get that but what would it hurt to tell just out of curiosity?

The other part of me goes, come on man! What are you hiding? Can I get the secret password to gain access to this secret sauce? :)

Mind you I have no issues with my current schedule, my stick are growing just fine but I enjoy the conversation and comparison.

For full disclosure and to not be a hypocrite, I run 3 Radion G4 Pro's on the AB+ program at 50% max intensity. The lights are 10" off the water line and SPS sit as far as 20" below the water growing just fine.

Using fluval 3.0 and fluval 1.0 . the 3.0 sunrise starts at 1300 full at 1500 sunset starts 1900 done at 2220. 1.0 comes on at 1500 off at 2200. Thats my tank .

For me, lighting schedule is based on a personal preference. I work from home so I set my lighting schedule to come on during the time that I available to see my tank. You want your aquarium light to be on the majority of time that you're home so you can see and appreciate your tank. Some people like to ramp up and down during their lighting cycle and I personally like it on and off.

I share any and all info but always end it with “ it may or may not work for you “ I don’t get the secret junk. Aren’t we all suppose to win at keeping out tanks thriving ? My answer is yes. I’m on older radions with the idea of upgrading next year. I’ve always been a MH guy but am enjoying running these LED’s

Thank you! That's what I'm talking about. I'd love it if everyone had a thriving reef! If anyone wants to try what I'm doing, give it a shot!
