So i'm a pretty late night person, especially now WFH during covid. I have my tank in my bedroom and love having just the blue/purple LED lights on as ambient lighting. Is it ok starting the light schedule later and ending it later? I was thinking like 2pm to 2am kinda deal.

I work second shift and I like having a little bit of light in the tank when I come home. My lights turn on around 10 am and go off shortly around midnight. That being said I have the RedSea ReefLEDs that have a moonlight option. My main lights go off much earlier and the moonlights are the ones that stay on until about midnight. Another consideration is any ambient light from windows. I noticed if I get out of bed earlier in the morning and light is coming in through the windows that my corals and fish are waking up with that light as opposed to the light for my tank. What kind of lights do you have? My suggestion would play around with it and keep an eye out for nuisance organisms that may thrive with too much light in the tank.

Lominie P30. I typically only run the blue and purple lights at like 70% and the whites at like 50% to minimize algae growth., i have LPS and soft corals only.

all that blue light may not be healthy for you tho - in terms of exposure to blue light before sleep and the impact to sleep quality.
