I'm curious to learn what others are doing for sunrise-sunset schedules on their tanks in rooms with ambient light. I off set my lighting to 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM so I can enjoy the tank in the evening. I notice that many of my corals (especially those softies that don't require a lot of lighting) wake up with the room lights up and around local sunset the corals start to close even though the lights aren't anywhere near dimming for sunset.

I have my lights running 10 AM to 9 PM, and the corals tend to follow the lighting schedule regardless of ambient light. My tank is in a finished basement with very little indirect sunlight reaching the tank though. It's interesting that your corals tend to follow the natural room lighting despite the tank lights still being on.
