So ive not really questioned this till just now but currently my light schedule has my lights on for a total of 12 hours, that in of itself isn't the question as lots of people have this sort of long duration lighting scheduled. However my lights sit at the peak intensity I have them set to for 6 hours out of the 12, is this too much?? My coral have never seemed to mind but haven't always colored up as much as they could, wondering if this could be part of it?

Nope, 6 hours is perfectly acceptable, the average is 4 to 6 hours depended on how intense you have the lights set :) there are a few people who will even go as much as 8 hours :)
