Howdy!

This is my first saltwater tank, I’ve got a 45 gallon tall tank up and cycling.
36 X 12 X 24

I’ve never grown coral before but I plan to once my parameters are stable after stocking fish.

I’m trying to put together a list of potential lighting options.

So far

Marine Orbit IC PRO 4226
https://www.amazon.com/Current-USA-4226-Aquarium-Wireless/dp/B0716LV748

I like these for it’s built in timer/ramp up/wireless features, and the potential option to sync these with the powerheads.

Kessil A360
https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/kess...hcwDQNVsztTPwv47MfDU9J7D7jWgwQnRoCWYsQAvD_BwE

Amazing quality, but I’m told I’d need two of these, and that’s quite the dent in the pocket book.

I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg, but I don’t want to comprise on quality. So if I end up finding something out of my price range I can save up for it. Right now I’d say I don’t want to spend more than $350 and the pennyhoarder in me is saying that’s too much!

Any other lighting suggestions?

How about T-5's? They're great with coral and you can get a good one within your price range.

If LED are a must, then add ReefBreeders to your list to consider. You get a good amount of features and a good amount of light coverage.

I fully support the T5 recommendation above - they just work and you cannot mess with them, which is good for people who are getting started.

What corals are you planning to keep?
I am a fan of T5's- a dual dyi t5's then supplement it w/led
2 Ai primes- little over with your $$

I am big Kessil fan but I think you would be much happier with 2A160 rather than the single 360 the 360 is designed for 24 in cube while each A160 can cover an 18in cube. 2 160s would fill the tank much better.
