Hello,

Would 1 Kessil A160E sufficient for Lps/Sps?
What LED would you recomend?
Actual DT dimensions:
23.75 x 16 x 19H

Thanks!

Hi Bud, It probably wont be enough for High light corals. But in general it should work fine!
so your looking at (guessing) 50 par on the sandbed, lps some zoas some shrooms
unfortunately I have found really zero real par info in the Kessels, I wanted them for my cube 20x20x20 but got no solid Par answers.
with the width of the tank Id be a little concerned about losing intensity to get the spread at the distance.

If your getting a good deal go for it. If your buying new, consider the Maxspec razor series in the same price range on ebay right now(new series coming) or something with that configuration(two led clusters)
Or a 16in fixture like an SB ramping.

The Razor 120w I did buy (finally!)for the cube after years literally of research has some very good power would be better suited for your wide tank than my square one.(kind of a bummer my own fault though) so I may be changing lights., Yea thats what my wife said"".

Kessels calculator, no Par info but coverage info.

if you want you can look at this on the spread I have.

It would be pushing the limits on a 160 kessil. depending on rock work and coral placement . I have a 160 over an open top bio cube 14 mounted 16 inches above the water line to get the spread that I need. I think to get the spread of 24 inches the mounting height of the light would have to match that reducing the penetration power of that light. Again depending on what you want to keep. Personally I would look at other options for a tank that size.

I have a 160 on my nuvo 40. Don't do sps tho but my lps love the light.

I guess if I go for Kessils I would need 2 160's or get the 360 version. I like the shimmer on the Kessils.

Im hit or miss on shimmer. I like youtube for light demos as well.
If you OK with used the ai sol is nice too. I just picked up some for the 55.

Looked on ebay and they had had the 120 razors around 250 to 300, dont see any right now. Ill meter my 120 and look at the spread. you will like the shimmer though.

Keep in mind depending on what you like to see in a tank is important. Some folks do really like the single source spot and shimmer w kessel radion. so its totally cool to do.
I prefer allover coverage, MH or t5 w stunner strips. and I like a canopy, I REALLY dont want to see the light by hanging it high. Im pulling most of the lenses in my AI SOL's and putting them on the canopy.

Would this work
Not as well as this for high intensity and spread.. less shimmer I think. And yea the 360 version would work too.

money wise, you would be better off going with 1 360 over 2 160's if you go with kessil
arms, controller and 160's would run you almost 800$
360, arm and controller is about 580 ish, depending on which arm you want and if you even want the controller.

I have the 360 on mine, Very happy with it. the shimmer is very intense so be sure that's something your into.
