Can anyone give me suggestions on lighting. I am looking to light 36*18 area . About 300-400 Par at a depth of 30 inches.

Please give me suggestions for T5 and metal halides if have I have to go that way. Also combination of T5 and metal halides , combi of T5 and Led .

I split the post out of your tank thread into it's own thread so hopefully you'll get more suggestions.

I am a fan of the 250w 14K Pheonix MH bulbs but I'm thinking it is an odd sized tank where one would be too little and two would be too much, not sure though. If you choose T5 I have used Hello Lights DIY 4 bulb setup. It is overdriven by 15% and really easy to install. I would do one of those and see what that gives you for PAR.

Correction the depth is 22 inches. Not 30 inches as I had described previously

I really appreciate the effort. This is very cool of you . I miss calculated previously and have changed the depth to 22 inches. My objective is slowly evolving on this build . I would like to have tabling and efflo at the bottom of the tank.

I like LED's but my experience using them is very limited and my knowledge base as well. So I would not like to have it as a primary source but it can be a supplemental source.

Do you have any suggestions on which T5 fixtures would do the job?

Go all led... I have the Apollos. Serious par at 24".. over 400.. I am thrilled with these lights.. no bulbs to replace... very little heat... amazing color and growth.. what more could you want?. Ive had them on a 22" tank for 5 months or so.. can't go over 50%..lol. they start bleaching sps.
