Lighting Suggestions

Building a Planet 240 (72X30X25) mixed reef. I am definitely doing 2 Neptune SKYs but I would like to do a different light in the middle of them. I am between a Radion XR15 G6, or a Kessil 360X. Was looking to get a bit more shimmer than get out of my Skys instead of the 3rd sky. Looking for help between the Kessil, Radion or something else...?

Two SKY or two G6 Radion XR30 should be sufficient unless you plan to go heavy into SPS. If you want more shimmer, go with the Radions.

The g6 is based on spread and I'm sure is a good light if it's as good as g5. So if spread is what you need g6.Kessel is shimmer machine but won't give you the real cool blue color as the g6, but you will have shimmer

A pair of G6 XR30s would give you everything plus the shimmer, but I wouldn't mix Radions and SKYs so I'd probably opt for the Kessil then if you're dead-set on the SKYs.

Have Radion G5 and Kessil AP9X. Haven't seen the G6 yet but not hearing they did anything that made the shimmer pop out. Kessil for shimmer, hands down.

Yes, plenty from my G5 Radions (with the diffusers it's a bit more subtle).

The two sky’s should be good! I love mine and my park meter shows they cover the full tank

For shimmer Kessil or Red Sea, hands down. I don’t think Radions are the best choice for this application.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. Yes, I get some shimmer from the Radions. But not the same as the Kessil. Shimmer is KessiI. I say this repeatedly, Two very different lights. I would recommend you try and see them in person prior to purchase. Radions are a softer more relaxing light. Kessil is dramatic, harsh shadows, detail. You really need to see them.

It is 36x30, so the lights are mounted transverse.
