Lighting (T5) question

I think a 6 bulb unit with a couple reefbrites will be more than enough light for that tank. I'm using an 8 bulb ATI with 2 XHO reefbrites over my 250 gallon and I love it. I think Radions are great as well, I have a g4 pro on one of my frag tanks and one on my LPS tank. For a SPS reef, I still prefer t5s with reefbrites. Can't really go wrong either way though. My tank is 36" wide and I get plenty of light.

Does anyone know much about the nanobox hybrid? I saw someone on here selling an ATI hybrid with 6 bulbs and 6 led nanobox V3 pucks.. but I can't seem to find a lot of reviews on it

Good job!!! I feel your pain brother. I've been planning and collecting stuff for over a month now and am just about to the lighting issue. My tank is going to be 48x18wx22h and I'm debating over the 4 or the 6 bulb for a mixed reef. I'm almost sold on the six just for the versatility and ability to only run 4 if need. But it will cover the majority of the width at 12". What does one do? Good luck with the build. I'll get around to doing my thread when I quit working so much. Lol

which ever you decide on, get the dimmable version of it. the one cord and the auto cooling is worth it IMO.

Every time I look up the dimmable version I see people saying don't get it because the bulbs weren't meant to dim and the bulbs wear out faster. Or something goes wrong with the ballast. Is this true or I just ran across some people that may have gotten a bad apple fixture?

This is the stand, sump and top off container. Everything needs some serious clean up.. I'm thinking about trimming out the doors and sides of the stand. Shaker cabinet style.. Maybe even get some stainless steel inserts.

More than likely they didn't let the bulbs burn in properly so of course it shorts the life out. If you have a burn fixture it helps het constant burn times

Cool, thanks for the heads up!

Dimmable ballasts have been known fail much more than their non dimmable counterparts
