I've been using a 6x48" ATI Sunpower for the last 5 years on a 48x18x24 90 gallon mixed reef. Great light, pretty happy with it, but I am just annoyed by the bulb replacements. The tank is slowly rebuilding from a system crash a year or so ago, so I have montipora, LPS (duncan/euphyllia) and an RBTA. I do have my eye on starting to put acros in again at some point.

Would it be sufficient to replace the sunpower with 2x AI Hydra 32s? I figure if I space it at the 1/3 and 2/3 spots across the tank, it would have good light spread, but I don't know if it would be enough.

Plan on replacing those Hydras in about 5 years. Factor this cost against your bulb replacements. Very few people use a LED more than 5 years - there are some, but they are in the minority. Then factor in a third/fourth hydra or some T5s to help with the spread that you are used to getting.

Im running the redsea 90s on a 48x24x16 mixed reef and have to turn it down and got 350 in my top acro range 190-240 in my middle range rock and over 140 on the bottom ( to high for my chalices and zoas ext . so i have to turn it down alot , its so far providing the best results ive gotton from all my lights cost is right on point and SHIMMER !!!!!! your t5 eyes will be renewed and youll feel like your on the dive !!! edit thats with only 2 :)
