I hope that comment didn’t come across as rude. It was not intended that way : ) all I meant was, you would think in the year 2020 this is a topic that would have a definitive answer.

I recently bought a nice PAR meter (it has not arrived in my mail yet) I think that as long as I buy lights with an adjustable yield, the PAR meter will do the rest for me : ) I think I am going to end up buying a T5/LED hybrid setup and not have to worry about the heat from MH.

I have decided to wait until my PAR meter gets here before I make a decision. I agree about the lighting for my current bioload. My LFS has agreed to buy my softies a little at a time as I start replacing things. I know that I’ll have to move some things around as my tank gets heavier with SPS. I have a plan for that part : )

I do like the ReeFi Duo Extremes. I have thought they could be added easily to what I already have. I have also thought about getting an entire hybrid system. The idea of having an entire lighting system on a single plug has value in and of itself.
