So I recently got an Amazon gift card for the holidays, and I want to get a better tank light. I currently have a basic one that came with my all in one tank, and it works for my green star polyps, but I want a light I can use for some better corals!

What are some good options I can find on Amazon that don’t require hanging from the ceiling? I rent. Lol

How much you willing to spend and tank size.
I’m hoping for something around 250$ or so? I have a 25 gallon tank, so it’s a bit smaller. But I want a nice set up.

I guess I should’ve just asked for dimensions lol.

AI Prime might not be enough for a 25L

but great option. May need 2 but then you’re over budget :-(.

you may be able to find a used hydra 32 on here for 250?

Otherwise look at BRSTV review of the black boxes.

you could get one for $100 and many reefers grow plenty of sps under them

Thanks I’ll def look into used options too I think. I’m thinking I’d probably need two of the AIs now that I’ve looked it up.

if you are not going sps, and as you say you want something nice, you could go Kessil a160we, would do sps mixed tank no problem but just check you like the shimmer of that light as it’s a strong effect.

Orphek OR3 LED bar

I think one is enough, but 2, a blue plus and a reef day plus may be better.

It's one of the top of rank lights, usually being used as supplement, or as an array. But nothing wrong to start with one and add more to it later on. If you later upgrade to better light like kessil/radion, you can still use it for coverage supplement.

Yeah I just don't know how long your tank is.

Lots of great "spotlight" led Options but they generally only cover a 12x12

Noopsyche also has some options,

and zetlight.

I won't stand behind them though, never used em.

If you're looking for something with a phone app.

the Prime has a coverage of 24 x 24 inches so for a mixed tank you could go with one, and if needed get another along the way.
