I currently have a 120 gal display (4'x2'x2') that is running the Fluval Coral lighting strip, which isnt bad but i hate the smart controller for it and just not happy overall with it. I was looking at the AI Primes and Ai Hydras 26 and was wondering what would be better, to run. I think i can use 2 primes to get the coverage but not sure. Currently mostly a softie and LPS in the tank, with the exception of a clam, that is hanging out on the top closest to my lights.

The Ai primes would not do the clam long term. Imo, I would get 3x Hydra 26 or 2x Hydra 52. Much better coverage.

Okay, might consider that, and honestly im suprised my clam has been doing well and growing like no tomorrow with the lights I have, it has at least grown 7 or 8 times since ive got in about 8 months ago

I've added two of Orphek OR Bars that have helped with shading and seem to put out high quality light. I started each at 2 hours a day and increased by 30 minutes every other day up to 6 hrs. No burning and noticeable improvements in coral! They aren't dimmable. But, they are only $160 delivered for a 48" bar with 36 three watt LED. Reef Daylight if you want more white, Blue Sky for a 20k type look, and they have a UV. For $170 you can mix any LED colors you want.

Which type of clam? The lighting requirements are significantly different for some of the kinds.

Softies and LPS are not all that demanding for light. Clams can be, but not always depending on the species.

It is a Maxima (not sure if spelling correctly) clam

I would love to see some photos of that Maxima. Growing Maxima are a rare thing anymore. Well done.

If you are growing a maxima with your lights, then just keep them... they are bright enough for most, or all, coral.

Not the best picture of it, but here you go
