Lighting

This all depends on the Rock. If it is "fully cured" then no problems. If it is "dead" rock, then no problems. If it is somewhere in-between, it could have some die-off and cause a mini-cycle. I would probably just add it and then watch the levels closely.
 
Yes aqua. It is hard to keep it at a steady tempature. It usually ranges from 77 to 79.

I put it in saltwater for three days with a pump running and it didn't show any nitrates. A friend of mind had it outside for 4 years.
