Hey guys I have been out of the hobby for 5 years getting back in what is a good bulb combo it's a t5 6 bulb fixture 39w most corals are chalice 65 rr tank

6 bulb chalice dominant tank...id do

2 ATI True Actinic (Giesemann Super Actinic)

2 ATI Blue+ (Giesemann Actinic Blue, or KZ Super Blue)

1 ATI Coral+ (Giesemann Aquablue Coral, KZ New Generation)

1 ATI Purple+ (Giesemann Super Purple, KZ Fiji Purple)

I use ATI Bulbs, but the Giesemann and KZ bulbs in parenthesis are close for those categories. Some say they look maybe nicer, but they are more expensive than ATI. Any combination of those brands would be great though. The above color combo is what I'd aim for with a chalice/Zoa/Lps type tank. For sps and acros I like a bit of a whiter look, more white balanced than blue

I also use ATI bulbs in my T5 fixture. I use 3x Blue+ and 1x Purple+. Getting great growth and color with this combo. Very good PAR.

Hard to go wrong with a good mix of ATI or Giesemman bulbs. In a 6 bulb I'd start with 50 percent blue plus (3 bulbs) and then play around with Purple Plus, True Actinic, Aquablue, or Coral Plus bulbs and see what looks good to you. 3 Blue Plus will give you a great par foundation, especially for chalices. I also strongly second Bpb's rec of using Actinic bulbs. They don't hit with a ton of PAR, but are perfect for coloring and growing chalices that are adapted to lower par with a more blue, violet dominant spectrum. You'll find what looks the best to you over time. If you've got your water parameters in line you'll be growing coral with any of the combos mentioned honestly - Just pick what you and your corals like best. Cheers and best of luck with the 65g chalice tank!

Thankx I'm goin to go with one of these setups and t week it alittle I ordered giesmen auablues already I do remember running them before and like the color just couldn't remember what else I ran
